inp.polri.go.id – Mataram. Chief of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police, Police Inspector General Mohammad Iqbal, was appreciated by Security Specialist of Dorna Sports, Fernando Arandiga, for his success in maintaining the security of the international racing event in Mandalika circuit, Lombok. "I appreciated my colleague (Chief of NTB Regional Police) who has helped us in holding the first large international event in Lombok. For everything, I say thank you", Fernando Arandiga said on Sunday (21/11). Chief of NTB Regional Police, Police Inspector General Mohammad Iqbal, explained that the success of the significant event is thanks to adequate preparation. "The success key of this event is the adequate preparation. We have prepared this across stakeholders for three months, either with Armed Forces, Police, or government institutions. So, everyone is ready, and they know what they have to do thanks to adequate preparations", the two-star general said. Chief of NTB Regional Police continued that in the initial plan, the first and second security layers in the Mandalika circuit would be the authority of the organisers. But in the end, Police are also helping. "The Police was not in the first ring of the security, but they needed assistance, so we entered and, Thank God, there were no significant security disturbances", he said. Chief of NTB Regional Police addressed that the support of all public elements is the essential element of the success of this event. One of the indicators is the advice addressed to the community, especially the spectators, not to use private vehicles when going to the Mandalika circuit. "It is proved that, on the third day, there were no significant traffic jams. From what we saw, there were only cars of VIP guests, workers, officials, and racers or their close associates", the former Chief of PR Division of National Police said.
