Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Supreme Courthas overturned a controversial acquittal granted to three major palm oil companies in a corruption case involving crude palm oil (CPO) export permits. The decision granted the prosecutors’ appeal.
“The ruling was issued on 15 September 2025 and published Thursday (25/9/2025), as reported by antaranews.com. The panel was led by Presiding Justice Dwiarso Budi Santiarto with Justices Agustinus Purnomo Hadi and Achmad Setyo Pudjoharsoyo.
At the first level, the Jakarta’s Central District Court had acquitted Permata Hijau Group, Wilmar Group, and Musim Mas Group. However, investigations later revealed allegations of bribery behind the verdict.
Prosecutors charged judges Djuyamto, Ali Muhtarom, and Agam Syarief Baharuddin, along with former deputy court chief Muhammad Arif Nuryanta and clerk Wahyu Gunawan.
They allegedly received Rp4 0 billion (USD 2.5 million) in bribes from lawyers Ariyanto Barkie, Marcella Santoso, Junaedi Saibih, and Syafei representing the palm oil firms. Several defendants are now on trial in Jakarta’s corruption court.
