inp.polri.go.id - Nagan Raya. The Nagan Raya Sub-regional Police, Aceh, arrested a tanker truck driver with the initials MHA (36), who was caught transporting 5,000 liters, or approximately 5 tons, of subsidized biodiesel fuel.
Police suspect the fuel originated from a practice of collecting diesel fuel at several gas stations (SPBU) for resale.
Nagan Raya Sub-regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, Police Senior Inspector Muhammad Rizal, stated that the suspect and evidence have been secured at the Nagan Raya Sub-regional Police Headquarters for further investigation.
"The suspect and the evidence, a tanker truck containing 5,000 liters of subsidized biodiesel, have been secured for further investigation," said Rizal, on Tuesday (10/20/2026).
The arrest was made on Monday (10/19/2026) at approximately 3:10 a.m. in Langkak Village, Kuala Pesisir District, Nagan Raya Regency. During questioning, MHA was unable to produce official documents related to the transportation and trade of subsidized fuel.
Based on initial questioning, MHA admitted that the fuel he was transporting allegedly belonged to an individual with the initials R, residing in Banda Aceh.
According to the initial information, the subsidized diesel fuel was allegedly purchased from several gas stations in Aceh Besar Regency using a shunting vehicle. The fuel was then stored in a warehouse in Blang Bintang District, Aceh Besar Regency.
The diesel fuel was allegedly intended to be sold at a price above the highest retail price (HET) before being delivered to an individual identified as M in Beutong District, Nagan Raya Regency.
However, investigators still need to investigate the alleged ownership, origin, and distribution channels of the fuel. The suspect's initial statement also needs to be verified through the investigation.
Rizal explained that the lack of official fuel transportation and trade documents was one of the factors being investigated in the case. Police subsequently secured the driver, vehicle, and all evidence for further investigation and legal proceedings.
Meanwhile, Nagan Raya Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Muhamad Taufiq, urged the public not to misuse subsidized fuel. He also encouraged the public to report any suspected misuse of subsidized fuel to the police immediately.
