inp.polri.go.id - Central Jakarta. The patrol unit of Central Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police thwarted a brawl that nearly broke out on Bendungan Jago street, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, early Saturday (1/24/2026). The team then apprehended six teenagers suspected of being involved in the violence.
The patrol, which began at around 3:45 a.m., encountered a group of teenagers behaving suspiciously in a location often vulnerable for brawls. As officers approached, the teenagers attempted to flee before being apprehended.
Central Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Reynold E.P. Hutagalung, stated that the patrol is a preventative measure to prevent disturbances to public order and security, particularly youth brawls that have the potential to result in loss of life.
"We are not going to stand idly. As soon as there's a potential disturbance, our officers immediately take action. Brawls are very dangerous, not only for the community but also for the future of the children themselves," said Reynold on Saturday (1/24/2026).
The six suspected perpetrators are AK (15), F (16), GM (23), R (15), JYF (16), and I (16). Most of them are still students and underage.
In addition to apprehending the suspects, officers also confiscated several pieces of evidence, including a Yamaha Mio Soul motorcycle, five sharp weapons, including a sickle and a machete, and three cell phones.
"All the suspects and the evidence have been handed over to the Central Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit and are undergoing legal proceedings to be held accountable for their actions," explained Reynold.
