Inp.polri.go.id - Banda Aceh. Ten out of 23 districts and cities in Aceh have declared a disaster emergency following widespread floods and landslides triggered by continuous heavy rainfall from 18 to 26 November 2025. 

The Aceh Disaster Management Agency (BPBA) reported that 46,893 residents have been affected, with 1,497 people displaced and two fatalities in North Aceh.

“The disaster has affected 14,235 households or 46,893 residents, with 1,497 people from 455 households displaced,” said BPBA Acting Chief Ridwan Fadmi on Wednesday (26/11/2025), as cited by antaranews.com.

The fatalities include M. Afdalil (27), who was swept away by flood currents, and Muzammil (30), who died of electrocution while attempting to rescue his poultry at home.

Structural damage also occurred in Bireuen, where the boarding dormitory of Dayah Najmul Hidayah Al Aziziyah collapsed into a river due to eroding riverbanks. No casualties were reported as students had been evacuated earlier.

The Bireuen–Takengon main route is currently impassable due to landslides, with police advising travelers to postpone their trips.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has instructed regional administration to activate disaster command posts, carry out evacuations, distribute emergency logistics, and monitor rainfall and river levels. BPBA urges residents to evacuate early, cut off electricity and gas, and stay alert to weather warnings.
