inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Democratic Party faction in the House of Representatives (DPR) apologized for the issue of DPR member allowances and stated its readiness to evaluate the matter in accordance with the will of the people.
"We are ready to be criticized, ready to be evaluated, and continue to be part of the people's aspirations," said the Chairman of the Democratic Party Faction in the Indonesian House of Representatives, Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono, also known as Ibas, in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday.
Ibas emphasized the importance of introspection and contemplation. Regarding the issue of DPR allowances, which has been protested by the majority of the public, he apologized on behalf of the Democratic Party faction and all DPR members.
"Listen to the people, listen to the people. Help the people, help the people," Ibas emphasized
He also urged members of the Democratic Party faction to remember two crucial things: listening to and helping the people. According to him, the people's hopes are the foundation of the party's struggle.
Ibas added that all members of the Democratic Party faction maintain a pro-people attitude, speech, and behavior. He reminded cadres to maintain their stance and continue to fight for the public interest.
