inp.polri.go.id - The Head of Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas), Inspector General Firman Shantyabudi, inaugurated the second phase of the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) program at the South Sumatra Police (Polda Sumsel) Headquarters.
Inspector General Firman Shantyabudi expressed his highest appreciation to the Governor of South Sumatra, Herman Deru, Chairperson of the South Sumatra DPRD, Hj. RA Anita, and the entire Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkompimda) staff. This is because all parties are committed to improving the culture of orderly traffic in South Sumatra, one of which is the implementation of ETLE in South Sumatra.
"At the closing of the Traffic Corps Working Meeting, the South Sumatran Governor received an award from the National Police Chief, and the commitment from that award was followed up by the governor, and today we are witnessing the support for the addition of ETLE monitoring points as a form of commitment from South Sumatra and all its staff to the achievement of an orderly traffic in South Sumatra,” explained Kakorlantas of the National Police, Friday (1/7/22).
Kakorlantas also emphasized that the increase in ETLE at several points in Indonesia does not mean that the Police will arrest as many violators as possible. “Please underline that ETLE supports the law enforcement process. Law enforcement is not only giving warnings or reprimands to violators. But provide prevention so that violations do not occur," he explained.
Inspector General Firman Shantyabudi hopes that in the future each region will continue to be committed in improving their traffic culture. One of the effort is by continuing to develop ETLE in the future.
He also appreciated the South Sumatra Police Chief, Inspector General Toni Harmanto, and his staff, because of their active role in collaborating with local governments in becoming the National ETLE role model.
It is known that the addition of ETLE in South Sumatra is divided into four sets. Two sets of ETLE are on Soekarno-Hatta street, Sukarami District. Then, one set on Demang Lebar Daun street, Ilir Barat District 1, and one set in the Nilakandi area, Ilir Timur II District. ETLE in the South Sumatra region currently has 30 static cameras and 10 mobile cameras with special mobile phone devices.
