inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Head of the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT), Eddy Hartono, emphasized the importance of the state's role in collaborating to build resilience and security, especially against the threat of radical ideology so that the security stability of a country is more guaranteed.
"Indeed, global defense cooperation for domestic peace and security must be realized by a country to ensure its stability and guarantee the lives of many people," he explained in his statement quoted by RRI on Sunday (6/15/2025).
The Head of BNPT also saw that preventing the spread of radical and terrorist ideologies is the state's obligation in order to maintain the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia.
"In this context, the state is indeed obliged to do prevention so that this radical terrorist ideology does not spread as it can disrupt the stability of security and defense in Indonesia," he said.
On the other hand, the Head of Planning, Law, and Public Relations of BNPT, Teko Wijanarko also emphasized the importance of intersectoral collaboration.
In preventing terrorism, the state cannot only rely on a security approach, but also through the use of media technology.
"BNPT always collaborates with all ministries/institutions, with civil society, with the private sector in order to prevent terrorism and radicalism. We must also broaden our horizons that prevention is not only done from the security sector alone but also through (media) technology," he explained.
