Jakarta - The Indonesian National Police sent a number of assistance in handling the earthquake in Majene and Mamuju, West Sulawesi which occurred on Friday morning, January 15, 2021. Head of the Public Relations Division of the Indonesian Police, Inspector General Pol Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono, said that the ranks of the Indonesian republic police, especially the regional police around West Sulawesi, sent a number of assistance. "For the Security Guarding Agency of the Republic of Indonesia Police sent 2 aircraft from the Air and Air Police Directorate of the Security Maintenance Agency and six K9s along with 15 personnel from the Directorate of Animal Police of the Security Maintenance Agency and one water police ship type B," said Argo in a written statement on Friday, January 15, 2021. Then the Information and Communication Technology Division of the Police of the Republic of Indonesia deployed 24 solar cells, two generator sets, 20 miletary solar cell kit personnel, and 4 personnel from the Information and Communication Technology Division of the Indonesian Police. Furthermore, said Argo, the South Sulawesi regional police were ordered to send a number of assistance, namely 136 Brimob personnel, 15 medical teams and a DVI team. "Vehicles, ambulances and all SAR equipment were also deployed," he said. Meanwhile, the Sulawesi regional police deployed 30 Brimob personnel and several medical teams to help residents affected by the earthquake. This assistance, said Argo, would later be coordinated with the West Sulawesi police to see which points were affected by the earthquake. "Aid has begun to be deployed today both by land and air," he said. Previously, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 rocked West Sulawesi. As a result of this earthquake, tens of people were reported died, hundreds were injured and thousands of people were displaced.
