inp.polri.go.id -  Deaths everywhere due to a fan riot that occurred after the Arema FC vs. Persebaya Surabaya match, at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, Saturday (10/1). The casualties in the riot involved a number of masses from the supporters, Aremania, civilians, and security apparatus who were on duty. Head of Public Relations of the East Java Police, Commissioner Dirmanto, confirmed the that caused hundreds of people died in the scene. A few hours after the match, the police were still investigating the case. "Members are still in the field. Yes, to investigate the case," explained the Head of Public Relations of the East Java Police. The riot happened after a match which resulted the defeat of the home team, Arema FC, by Persebaya with a score of 2-3 in the match week 11 of Liga 1 2022. After the match, thousands of angry Aremania, or Arema FC supporters, went to the field. Seeing thousands of supporters infiltrate the field, the security forces from the Police and the TNI immediately tried to secure the players and disperse the mass.
