Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. President Jokowi has directed the Commander of the Indonesian Military and the Chief of the Indonesian National Police (INP) to pursue, arrest, and prosecute members of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Papua.
"I instructed the Military Commander and INP Chief to continue to pursue and arrest all KKB members in Papua," said President Jokowi, whose directive has gained significant traction on social media.
He reiterated that there is no place for KKB in Papua or anywhere in Indonesia.
President Jokowi's action followed ongoing attacks by Papuan KKB members on security forces and civilians in the region.
Security forces have been tasked with hunting criminals in Papua for prosecution under existing laws.
The KKB has persistently carried out violent actions, targeting security forces, civilians, and government infrastructure in Papua.
One recent incident involved the shooting of military soldiers in Muara District, Puncak Regency, underscoring the severity of the situation.
