In continued support of the Palestinian community, a Lion Air A 330 chartered flight took off carrying humanitarian aid from the Indonesian government coordinated between the Indonesian National Police (INP) and the Ministry of Healtht from Soekarno Hatta Airport to El Arish Airport in Egypt
Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, the Head of the INP 's Public Relations Division, said on Sunday (5/11/2023) the aid was part of a subsequent round of aid following the departure of two Hercules planes on 4 November, as arranged by President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo.
"Today, another Airbus A 330 will leave for Egypt to transport much-needed aid for our brothers in Palestine," the INP Chief Spokesperson said.
Inspector General Krishna Murti of the INP's International Relations Division said that nine INP representatives, the media and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would accompany the aid, which along with the Hercules planes, is expected to arrive at El Arish airport on Monday at 07:00 am local time.
The two Hercules planes requires two days and five stopovers to Egypt, while the Airbus A 330 is schedule to arrive there in 11 hours. The Egyptian Red Crescent will assist with the aid distribution.
"Out of a total of 51.5 tonnes of aid from the Indonesian government, this Airbus is carrying 26.5 tonnes. It includes special health equipment, 100 platoon tents, 1,000 blankets and winter jackets," said Chief Krishna.
Sumarjaya, the Head of the Health Crisis Centre at the Ministry of Health, asserted that the aid also includes clean water, water distillation units, essential medicines, emergency medicines, supplementary food for infants and pregnant women, and hygiene kits for pregnant women and children," he said.
