Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) sent humanitarian aid to Palestinian citizens from Halim Perdanakusuma airport on Saturday (23/11).
Inspector General Krishna Murti, who heads the INP's International Relations Division, confirmed the delivery of 26.5 tonnes of the 51.5 tonnes of aid.
"Today, President Jokowi officially ordered the Indonesian government's aid to Gaza, Palestine. Out of the 51.5 tonnes sent, 26.5 tonnes were transported by INP," he said, referring to President Joko Widodo.
Chief Krishna explained that a special A-330 aircraft led by INP chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo carried the 26.5 tonnes, while two Indonesian Air Force C-130 Hercules aircraft carried the rest.
The aid included 6.5 tonnes of medical supplies and medicines from the Ministry of Health, as well as 100 tents for 50 people each.
Earlier, Deputy Foreign Minister Pahala Mansury said the aid had been provided by the public, the Ministry of Health, the Indonesian military and the Ministry of Finance's International Development Cooperation Fund (LDKPI).
