inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Smuggling Law Enforcement Task Force seized 56,557 iPhones worth IDR 225 billion, which were illegally smuggled into Jakarta. They also seized 1,625 units with various Android operating systems, valued at IDR 5.3 billion.

The Director of Special Economic Crimes of INP, Brigadier General Ade Safri Simanjuntak, explained that 18,574 cellphone spare parts, including batteries, chargers, and cables, were also seized, worth IDR 235 billion. Thousands of these smuggled items were seized from six locations searched in Jakarta.

"The searches involved six locations, including one warehouse with two plots or units, four shophouses that also function as offices and storage, and one office unit," he explained on Tuesday (4/21/2026).

Ade Safri explained that the Smuggling Law Enforcement Task Force has also conducted a case review to name two suspects in this case: DCP alias P, the importer, and SJ, the distributor. Both were named as suspects because they are suspected of being responsible for illegally importing goods from China to Indonesia.

Investigators have also developed this case and discovered that PT TSL, suspected of being a holding company, used several shell companies to process documents for the illegal mobile phone imports.

"We are committed to conducting the investigation into this case professionally, transparently, accountably, and thoroughly," he said.
