Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The area around Jakarta's National Monument (Monas) was flooded with thousands of protesters participating in the "Great Action of the Indonesian People's Alliance in Defense of Palestine" rally on Sunday (5/11/2023), as reported by antaranews.com. The majority of the protesters, clad in white shirts, started to assemble at Monas as early as 6 am. They carried Palestinian flags, scarves, and clothing, and brandished placards denouncing the brutal Israeli attacks on Palestinian civilians. Alongside regular citizens, several representatives from state institutions were present, including the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, the Minister of Religious Affairs, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi. Minister Retno Marsudi reiterated Indonesia's support for Palestine during the rally. "On behalf of the Indonesian government, we want to reaffirm Indonesia's support for the Palestinians," Retno said in her address.
