The Waru Police Precinct have been investigating an incident in which the body of a veterinary student was found in a car parked at an apartment complex in Sidoarjo, East Java, on Sunday (5/11/2023). The victim was a 21-year-old Airlangga University veterinary student identified as CA from Kediri, antaranews.com reported. Her body was found inside the car with a helium tank and a tube leading to a plastic bag covering her head, along with her personal belongings such as a mobile phone and wallet, said  Superintendent Ahmad Yani, the Head of the Waru Police Criminal Investigation Department. A letter addressed to her parents and close friends was also found, but its contents have not been made public. "The letter is in English," Ahmad said, adding that police were awaiting the results of the post-mortem examination to determine the cause of her death. Prof Dr Murni Lamid, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Airlangga University, said she was deeply shocked to hear of the tragic incident involving the student. CA was part of the veterinary training programme. She was due to start working in the parasitology department on Monday. The remains of the student will be taken to Kediri for burial once the autopsy has been completed. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
