The Head of Public Relations for the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto, stated that they have acted swiftly and arrested three perpetrators of the assault. 

Currently, the perpetrators are to be processed as this step is part of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police's commitment to firmly prosecuting all crimes and maintaining a safe and conducive public order and security situation.

He stated that despite tensions between groups who each had led crowds, the investigation proceeded with adjusted mechanisms. The victim expressed objection to facing the suspect directly, so investigators implemented separate questioning methods to ensure the safety and comfort of all parties.

"We ensure that the handling of this case remains professional, proportional, and measured, while prioritizing victim protection and maintaining public order and security," he explained on Monday (3/30/2026).

He revealed that the confrontational examination process between the suspect and witnesses in the alleged sexual assault case was tense and heated. Budi also confirmed that investigators were handling the situation professionally.

"From the beginning, we anticipated potential friction because both parties were present with their own crowds. Investigators immediately took decisive action by separating the two parties to maintain control of the situation," he said.
