Rescue workers have discovered three more bodies from the collapse of the Al Khoziny Islamic boarding school prayer hall in Sidoarjo, East Java, bringing the total number of victims to 121, consisting of 104 survivors and 17 dead, according to the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas).

“Rescuers found the victims from search sector A4,” said Surabaya SAR Chief Nanang Sigit on Saturday (4/10/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com. 

He noted that the operation involved cutting through steel beams and breaking concrete slabs using heavy extraction tools.

Nanang added that all recovered remains were transported to Bhayangkara Hospital in Surabaya for identification by the East Java Police DVI team.

As of Saturday night, heavy machinery was still deployed to clear around 70 percent of the rubble, with rescue efforts continuing amid hopes of finding more victims.
