"We have filed combined charges, led by premeditated murder, to ensure the defendants face the full weight of the law for this calculated crime," said Military Oditur Colonel Chk Andri Wijaya during the opening hearing in Cakung, East Jakarta, as reported by antaranews.com.
The defendants, Chief Sergeant MN, Second Corporal FH, and Chief Corporal FY, are accused of kidnapping the victim from a shopping center in Ciracas on 20 August 2025, before the body of the bank manager, identified as MN (37), was discovered bound and gagged in a Bekasi rice field the following morning.
The prosecution’s primary charge under Article 340 of the Criminal Code carries a maximum penalty of death. Additional charges include illegal deprivation of liberty and concealing a corpse.
Presiding Judge Colonel Fredy Ferdian Isnartanto said that the trial will remain transparent as the court prepares to hear testimony from 17 scheduled witnesses.
