inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. As the Ramadan comes closer, the Indonesian National Police (INP) ensures strict and tight monitoring on food prices and availability across the country. The step is taken to prevent price increase and ensure people’s need  are met.

The Head of INP Food Task Force, Brigadier General Helfi Assegaf emphasized that his unit has been deployed to carry out the monitoring to ensure the food price are not above the Highest Retail Price (HET).

“We will do the inspection throughout the country, except for Papua which has experienced price increase although it is still not much. What is important is that we have to maintain the price to be below HET, that is a must,” stressed Helfi on Thursday (2/20/2025).

Not only staple foods, supervision will also cover other vital sectors, such as fertilizers, seeds, and LPG gas. Distribution of staple foods will also be monitored intensively to prevent violations that could harm the community.

Helfi appealed to the public to actively report to the authorities if they find indications of violations related to basic necessities. With strict supervision, it is hoped that preparations for Ramadan can run smoothly without any detrimental price fluctuations.
