Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan called TikTok content creators to not use their accounts for identity politics that potentially lead to conflicts.
"Use your TikTok account wisely, avoid unnecessary things. If you want to engage in politics in TikTok, use it as a means of learning," he said during a press conference on Friday (16/6/23).
He also urged TikTok content creators to embrace a sense of pride of their country.
"As the young generation of Indonesia, it is crucial for all of you to take pride in our nation. While we do encounter challenges along the way, under the leadership of President Joko Widodo, Indonesia has made significant progress over the past eight years," he said.
He outlined that Indonesia's economic resilience stands among the strongest within the G20 member countries, despite the ongoing global economic slowdown, with five key pillars that contribute to Indonesia's economic resilience: industrialization, digitalization, interconnection, economic distribution, and decarbonization.
He further emphasized the positive impact of digitalization on government transparency, stating, "Through digitalization, the government aims to minimize the possibility of corruption, thereby fostering a generation of Indonesian TikTok content creators who are even better than their predecessors."
Several digitalization programs implemented by the government, such as e-catalogs to enhance the efficiency and transparency of government spending, Simbara to improve the quality of mining data, Simirah to optimize cooking oil distribution, the National Logistic Ecosystem (NLE) to enhance port efficiency and connectivity, and the Online Single Submission (OSS) system to expedite the investment process are government's main focus, he added.
In addressing the TikTok content creators, he shared that he has engaged in discussions with various countries, including America and Europe, urging them not to dictate Indonesia's environmental policies but rather to focus on their own nations. His statement garnered enthusiastic applause from the content creators.
"Sometimes, we fail to recognize the true potential of Indonesia. This country is 'mighty,' yet at times, we underestimate its worth. As the young generation of Indonesia, it is crucial for you to grasp the richness of our nation. Indonesia is vast, and no one can manipulate our great nation," he explained passionately.
