Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Indonesian Military Force (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto reveals the patrols in Papua are using drones to further ensure the safety of TNI members. “There are changes in our patrol operations where we would not send our forces to 10 to 20 kilometers deep to conflict hotspot. Instead, we would first send our drone units to first scout the location,” explains the TNI Commander in South Jakarta on Tuesday (12/5/2023). Agus adds that in overcoming the issues in Papua, his party has prepared hard power as their last resort. Currently, TNI had only used their soft power. The commander gave an example of soft power as a more defensive measures amidst the barrage of attacks from the armed criminal group. “For the soft power, we are more revolving around active defensive measures. Then, we also pushed our intelligent territorial operation in Papua. We assure you that Hard Power would be the last resort,” conclude the commander. (ad/ay/pr/nm)
