Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Military (TNI) has completed the construction of an 18-meter Bailey bridge in Sikabau, West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra, restoring transportation access after severe flooding, officials said on Sunday (14/12/2025).
The bridge was built to reconnect isolated communities and support economic recovery.
“We have completed the Bailey bridge in Sikabau and it is fully operational for public use,” said Tuanku Imam Bonjol Military Commander Major General Arief Gajah Mada during an on-site inspection with local authorities, as reported by antaranews.com.
The bridge is one of four Bailey bridges built by the Tuanku Imam Bonjol Military Command, with three already completed and one nearing completion in Padang Pariaman. The project follows a presidential directive to rapidly rebuild damaged infrastructure in disaster-hit regions.
West Pasaman Regent Yulianto said the bridge, completed in less than six days, is vital for mobility and livelihoods while awaiting permanent reconstruction.
