Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto has deployed military assets to accelerate infrastructure recovery in disaster-affected areas of Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, following severe floods and landslides.
The operation focuses on reopening access routes and restoring connectivity for affected communities.
“The military has deployed 53 heavy equipment units, including excavators, bulldozers, and backhoes, to support infrastructure recovery,” Commander Agus said during a Cabinet Plenary Meeting at the State Palace on Monday (15/12/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The assets are being used to clear mud-covered roads, repair damaged routes, and construct temporary bridges to reconnect isolated areas. Army Engineering units are leading the works, with the Indonesian Army assigned as the main task force for Bailey bridge construction.
As of Monday, the TNI has worked on 50 bridge locations, with two bridges already completed and operational. All deployed equipment remains on standby in the field to support ongoing recovery and post-disaster rehabilitation efforts.
