Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Military (TNI) task forces have killed a key figure of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB), Nekison Enumbi alias Bumi Walo, in an armed operation in Ilamburawi District, Puncak Jaya, Central Papua, on Saturday (10/5/2025). 

Enumbi, the KKB commander for the Yambi region, was wanted for multiple deadly attacks.

“This is a concrete step by the TNI to maintain stability and protect civilians from armed terror. The operation was based on accurate intelligence,” said Lieutenant Colonel Iwan Dwi Prihartono, the spokesperson for Joint Command Habema, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Enumbi was killed after resisting arrest. Troops seized weapons and equipment including bullets, axes, machetes, radios, and bows. He had been on the police’s wanted list since April 2024 for involvement in killings of police officers, a retired officer, and civilians.

The KKB has also attacked schools, health workers, and spread disinformation through social media. TNI urged the public to remain calm and not be swayed by unverified online content.
