Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. In the quiet hills of Papua Mountains, the presence of the state made itself gently known—not through sirens or orders, but through laughter and open arms. On a sunny day in Kenyam, the capital of Nduga Regency, members of the Damai Cartenz Task Force paused their patrol to greet and spend time with local children.
Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani, the Head of the Damai Task Force, shared that this dialogic patrol is part of a broader effort to build trust and nurture familiarity between the security personnel and the communities they serve.
“We hope these children will grow up seeing us not as distant figures, but as part of their everyday lives,” he said over the weekend, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Through these human-centered interactions, the task force seeks to plant seeds of peace—instilling values of unity and understanding, especially in the younger generation, whom Chief Faizal called the “foundation for lasting security in Papua.”
The patrol was met warmly by local residents. Children smiled shyly at the officers, who responded with friendly words and gestures, some even sharing stories and small treats.
“We want the presence of the state to be felt even by the smallest hands and the youngest hearts,” Chief Faizal added.
This initiative is part of a wider communication strategy by Satgas Damai Cartenz—one that emphasizes empathy over enforcement, and engagement over distance. The goal, Chief Faizal emphasized, is to create emotional ties that make peace not only a mission, but a shared experience.
“True security isn’t built by force alone,” he concluded, “but by the attention we give, the education we share, and the humanity we show.”
