Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A tour bus carrying kindergarten students was completely destroyed by fire while traveling on the Becakayu Toll Road in East Jakarta on Thursday morning (24/10/2024).

All 58 children and two bus staff evacuated safely before the flames engulfed the vehicle.

Sukur Sarwoni, an officer from the East Jakarta Fire Department, said the fire broke out around 10.12am. 

“The fire started suddenly from the air conditioner, and it spread rapidly,” he explained, as quoted by antaranews.com. 

Three fire trucks were deployed to the scene to bring the fire under control. The estimated loss is around Rp 800 million.

Firefighters and Jasa Marga workers removed the damaged bus from the road using a tow truck.
