inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan formed a special team to hunt the foreigners who smuggled the illegal goods in large wholesale centers such as Tanah Abang and Mangga Dua, Jakarta.

According to Minister Zulkifli, the team will work together with trusted institutions who will investigate in secret.

“We worked with an institution that we can trust. We will survey this matter deeply, to see how they, the foreigners, are able to be the dealers in the large wholesale centers,” said Minister Zulkifli on Tuesday (8/6/2024).

He says that according to the findings of the Illegal Imported Goods Control Task Force in the Indah Kapuk Beach Area in July, the importer of the goods are foreigners.

The foreigners took the items and sold them digitally or distributed them to big distributors in large wholesale centers. According to him, this makes the flow of illegal imported goods dominate the market, outselling domestic goods.

The Trade Ministry also researched the flow of imported goods in Indonesia, starting from how it came to the selling in the market.
