In his speech to the new ambassadors during the Candidates for the Plenipotentiary Ambassadors (LBBP) of the Republic of Indonesia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office, Jakarta, Budi Santoso said that Indonesian ambassadors can help realize the export growth target of 7.1 percent in 2025.

"Hopefully, you can synergize with the Ministry of Trade in expanding the export market at your placement country to achieve the export growth target of 7.1 percent in 2025," said the Minister Budi Santoso on Wednesday (2/12/2025).

According to Budi Santoso, by considering various factors such as world gross domestic product (GDP), Indonesia's GDP, exchange rates, and world commodity prices, Indonesia's national exports are targeted to grow by 7.1 percent in 2025 or worth 294.45 billion US dollars.

He also invited prospective ambassadors to support the three main programs of the Ministry of Trade, namely securing the domestic market, expanding the export market and MSMEs Can Export!.

In supporting the export growth target, the Ministry of Trade is committed to expanding the export market by strengthening trade diplomacy. This effort is taken, among others, through the settlement of negotiations, trade disputes, and participation in international forums.

To date, at least 19 trade agreements have been implemented, 10 agreements have been signed and ratified, and 16 other agreements are being negotiated.

Minister Budi also asked for a number of support for strengthening trade diplomacy from prospective ambassadors.
