Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The 2025 Eid Al-Fitr traffic operation, Operasi Ketupat, recorded a 30% drop in traffic accidents compared to last year, according to Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps Chief Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho.
“Traffic accidents decreased from 3,728 to 2,637 this year—a 30 percent reduction,” he said on Monday (7/4/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
The number of fatalities also dropped by 47 percent during the operation, which covers the annual exodus and return flow of Eid travelers.
Chief Agus reported that as of Monday, or six days after Eid, around 1.375 million vehicles had entered the Jakarta area.
“We expect 2.2 million in total. By tomorrow morning, that would be about 60 percent of the return flow,” he added.
Authorities will compare incoming traffic figures with last year to determine the peak return period.
“From what we’re seeing now, tonight might mark the peak of the return traffic,” Chief Agus said.
