Inp.polri.go.id - Balikpapan. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief of Traffic Corps, Inspector General Aan Suhanan, inspected the preparation for traffic security ahead of the 79th Independence Day celebrations in the new capital, Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) on Saturday (10/8/2024).
He said that as many as 898 personnel will be deployed for the Traffic Security Task Force (Satgas Pamwalrolakir) to ensure smooth and secure operations throughout the event.
"Overall, we are prepared to secure and escort the Independence Day events at IKN," Chief Aan said, as reported by antaranews.com.
All security vehicles, including 87 four-wheel and 31 two-wheel units, have been thoroughly checked and are operational. These vehicles have already been in use for preliminary tasks.
The task force has conducted several simulations to ensure preparedness for both escort and security operations.
Chief Aan expressed confidence that with proper preparation and high commitment, the Independence Day celebrations will proceed smoothly and safely.
Following the inspection, Chief Aan and his team monitored the toll roads leading to IKN and reviewed the locations for the State Palace and ceremony grounds to ensure access and event readiness.
