Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Head of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps,  Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, has higlighted the importance of a humanist approach and strategic partnerships in strengthening public trust in the traffic police. 

Following directives from INP Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the focus has shifted toward building rapport with the community rather than relying solely on enforcement.

"I feel that the traffic police approach now isn't just about tickets, but about using the heart," Chief Agus said on Thursday (14.5.2026), noting that the shift has received positive feedback from various groups, including online motorcycle taxi communities.

He urged his subordinates to innovate their service models to meet public needs directly. He emphasized that the ultimate goal of every traffic unit is to educate citizens on road safety, thereby reducing violations and traffic accidents, according to antaranews.com.
