Inp.polri.go.id - Bogor. Bogor Sub-regional Police Traffic Unit has implemented traffic engineering on the Puncak tourist route in West Java during the long holiday continuing until Monday.
First Inspector Ardian, the Bogor Police Head of Traffic Operations, explained that the traffic engineering includes odd-even vehicle registration and one-way systems.
"We will adjust the implementation based on traffic volume developments," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Chief Ardian noted a significant increase in vehicle flow on the Puncak route during this holiday. Between 6 am and 7 am, around 2,800 vehicles entered Puncak.
To manage this, the police began using the odd-even system at 6 am and switched to a one-way system towards Puncak at 7.30 am.
On the first day of the long weekend, the traffic was managed with three one-way sessions, two towards Puncak and one back to Jakarta. The one-way system is planned to handle the expected surge of vehicles returning to Jakarta.
