Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police (INP) have prepared traffic engineering measures for the 43rd ASEAN Summit which will take place from September 5th to 7th, 2023. The measure was to ensure smooth transportation for the delegates and the community. Head of INP’s Public Relations, Inspector General of Police Sandi Nugroho, conveys 1,679 personnel have been deployed to ensure the success of the traffic engineering measures. “There are 1.128 personnel for traffic security and also 300 personnel deployed for parking security. There are also 251 personnel for security escort, 75 for traffic escort with two-wheeled vehicle or four-wheeled vehicle, and 176 for the delegates security from President Security Force Under Operation Control (BKO),” says Sandi. He said that during the Summit, there will also divert traffic flow in several places. This measure will take hold when the attending delegates passed either to the Summit main venue, to accommodations, or other venues. The police have also coordinated with the Government to release an issuance of work from home to lessen the mobility during the Summit. “We also suggest the Education and Culture of Jakarta to switch the learning method for schools around the Summit vicinity to online,” says Sandi. Police who operates outside ring 1 will also coordinate with President Security Force to ensure the safety and comfort of VVIP guests. Sandi also apologize and asks for community’s understanding for the disturbance surrounding traffic during the Summit.
