Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi has directed immediate mapping of areas vulnerable to rock-throwing attacks on passing trains, following a recent incident that injured two passengers.

“We need to map the regions where these incidents occur, especially since many happen at night,” he said during a media briefing in Jakarta, Wednesday (9/7/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The minister responded to a stone-throwing attack on Train 88F Sancaka, operating between Yogyakarta and Surabaya, which occurred between Klaten and Srowot stations on Sunday. Shattered glass from the impact injured two passengers.

He urged continuous public awareness campaigns and coordinated efforts with local governments and law enforcement to prevent recurrence.

State railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has been instructed to identify frequent hotspots despite such cases being rare in recent years. PT KAI vowed to pursue the perpetrators and hand them over to the authorities.
