inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Transportation has allocated 150 school buses to local governments and educational institutions throughout 2025 to strengthen student transportation access and support equitable national education services.
Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi stated that the bus allocation aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's directive and demonstrates the government's commitment to ensuring the availability of wider public transportation services.
"This also supports equitable access to basic services for the public," said the Minister of Transportation on Monday (1/12/2026).
Minister Dudy stated that the allocation is in accordance with Ministerial Decree Number KM 69 of 2025 concerning the Allocation of Small School Bus Assistance in the 2025 Fiscal Year.
"We want to ensure that students have access to decent and safe transportation so that the teaching and learning process can run effectively and optimally," said Dudy.
He stated that of the 150 buses, 28 were allocated to support the operation of the People's Schools, which is President Prabowo's priority program to provide access to free, quality education for children from poor and extremely poor families throughout Indonesia.
Minister Dudy stated that the allocation of the people's school buses was carried out proportionally across various regions of Indonesia, from Sumatra, Java and Yogyakarta, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, West Nusa Tenggara, and Maluku.
"We hope that these buses can be optimally utilized by local governments, especially to support the operation of the People's Schools and improve access to safe and affordable education for students," he added.
