inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs announced that the transportation ticket discount program for the second semester of 2026 has achieved its target.
As is known, during the school holidays, the government provided transportation incentives and discounts in the form of a 30 percent discount on train tickets from June 20 to July 5, 2026, and a 30 percent discount on basic Pelni ship fares from June 20 to August 15, 2026.
In addition, the government also exempted ASDP port service fees from June 20 to July 5, 2026, and provided a full 100 percent subsidy on Government-Borne Value Added Tax (PPN DTP) for scheduled economy class domestic airline tickets.
"To date, the program has been successful, and public uptake of the program has been quite optimal. This demonstrates that the stimulus is able to provide benefits that are directly felt by the community," explained Haryo Limanseto, Spokesperson for the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, on Wednesday (7/8/2026).
As of July 5, 2026, the program had been used by 1,303,191 passengers, reaching 110 percent of the target of 1,174,624 passengers. This number also increased by 13 percent compared to the realization in the same period in 2025, which was recorded at 1,152,581 passengers.
With a budget realization of IDR 90.9 billion, the policy covers 150 regular train trips and 26 additional train trips, with a 30 percent discount for all non-commissioned (non-PSO/non-pioneer) economy train services.
Meanwhile, the implementation of the sea transportation fare discount program is still ongoing, as its implementation period will end on August 15, 2026.
As of July 6, 2026, this program has been utilized by 481,503 passengers, or approximately 69 percent of the target of 693,690 passengers, with a current budget realization of IDR 46.9 billion.
