Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Tunnel 2024 International Conference in Bandung, West Java, held from 2 to 4 October 2024, attracted over 400 participants from various countries. 

“We are grateful that the Tunnel 2024 conference ran smoothly with more than 400 attendees. The event highlighted the growing potential of Indonesia’s tunnel industry,” said Paulus Pramono Rahardjo, the chairman of the event, on Sunday (6/10/2024)

Organized by the International Tunneling and Underground Space Association (ITA-AITES) and Parahyangan Catholic University (Unpar).The conference, themed “Tunnelling and Underground Space for Sustainable Development,” covered key topics like soil movement control and risk management. Industry stakeholders, experts, academics, and engineers participated, with discussions focused on sustainable excavation practices and optimizing underground spaces.

During the event, participants established the Indonesian Tunneling and Underground Space Association, appointing Weni Maulina as its first chairperson, according to antaranews.com. 

ITA-AITES President Arnold Dix emphasized that Tunnel 2024 marks a new era of collaboration to harness the potential of underground spaces for both local and international communities.
