Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that 40 Indonesian citizens and one foreign national, the spouse of an Indonesian, have safely arrived in Amman, Jordan, following escalating tensions in Lebanon.

“The 40 Indonesians and one foreign national are now safe in Amman,” Judha Nugraha, the Director of Protection for Indonesians and Legal Entities, on Sunday (6/10/2024).

The evacuees were transported in two separate groups by land, traveling from Beirut, Lebanon, and Damascus, Syria. They are expected to return to Indonesia on two commercial flights, both set to arrive in Jakarta on Monday, according to antaranews.com.

The fourth group, which includes 20 Indonesians and the foreign national, departed on Sunday and will arrive in Jakarta at 3.40 pm local time. The fifth group, also with 20 Indonesians, is scheduled to land earlier at 7.40 am.

Previously, 25 Indonesians had been evacuated in August this year due to worsening conditions in the region.
