inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Mobile Brigade Corps of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police deployed two field kitchen vehicles to assist victims affected by a fire in the Jiung Market area, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (6/2/2026).
From the field kitchen, personnel distributed more than 200 boxes of rice to those remaining in evacuation centers following the massive fire that engulfed the densely populated residential area behind Jiung Market.
In the morning, personnel were seen walking through evacuation centers, distributing ready-to-eat meals to residents, including children and the elderly. The officers' presence among the victims received a positive response from the community, which is still recovering from the fire.
The previous fire reportedly destroyed hundreds of semi-permanent buildings and left hundreds of residents homeless and displaced.
This humanitarian effort follows the directive of the Head of the Mobile Brigade Corps of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Henik Maryanto, for all personnel to assist the affected community and provide prompt humanitarian services in the field.
"Mobile Brigade personnel must be present among the community, especially when the public are experiencing difficulties. This assistance is expected to ease the burden on the fire victims," he said.
In addition to assisting with food distribution, Mobile Brigade personnel also remain on standby around the location to assist with security and post-fire handling, along with relevant agencies.
