Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The immigration authorities in Jakarta is set to deport two Indian nationals for misusing their tourist visas, antaranews.com reported.
The two Indian nationals, identified as 36 year old NPS, and 57 year old KPS, are to be deported for misusing their tourist visas by soliciting donations in Jakarta and surrounding areas, the West Jakarta immigration office said on Thursday (26/10/2023)
Wahyu Eka, Head of the West Jakarta Immigration Office, explained that these individuals posed as fortune tellers and collected money in exchange for love predictions or household advice.
The suspects reportedly collected between Rp400,000 to Rp750,000 daily by offering predictions in exchange for donations. They claimed the funds would be donated to Indian orphanages.
In another case, the Bali Immigration Office has deported an American national and a Russian national for overstaying their visas, despite claiming ignorance of the law.
The American citizen, identified only by her initial EMD, stayed in Bali seven months beyond her visa. The Russian national, identified by his initial KT exceeded his stay since February 2021. Both were deported through Denpasar's International Airport.
In Bali, a total of 236 foreign nationals were deported from January to September 2023.
