Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and the Indonesian Military Force (TNI) Admiral, General Agus Subiyanto reviews the security of voting in polling stations. Through their inspection, they assess the situation is still secure and conducive.
"Today, me and the Adrimal are together reviewing the situation to ensure our members preparation in the security operations to face various potential disturbances, both during votings and after the votings," said General Sigit in Monas on Wednesday (2/14/2024).
The INP Chief says that his party have already seen the disturbance potentials following the quick-count result, and thus the security forces are present to ensure 2024 General Election would remain safe and conducive.
"As we know, there are potentials that might occur and disturb public security. Therefore, we are here to ensure our personnel preparation, backed by the military," said Sigit.
According to the INP data, there are at least 260,000 personnel tasked to secure polling stations across the country. Sigit explains that personnel in the polling stations have the responsibility of its security.
Moreover, General Sigit also states that there are personnel who are on standby in command center, and will give instructions to members on the field if disturbances ever arise.
"We are makong sure that personnel understands the steps of regulating force when facing disturbances," says INP Chief.
However, the Four-Star General states that as of now, situation remains conducive. The proces of voting goes smoothly and conducive. INP Chief told that his party will continue to provide security until the election process is completely over.
