Anticipating Disatisfaction of Quick-Count Results, INP Chief Urged People to Report Accordingly

Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Following the results of 2024 election quick count, police aware there might be security disturbance by people who are not satisfied with the results. "After voting, there are potentials of dosturbance due to some group who cannot accept with the result of quick-count or vice versa. We have to anticipate this," said the Indonesian National Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo on Wednesday (2/14/2024). Police General Sigit wishes that complaints on the results could be carried out according to the existing mechanism. If there are election dispute, the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu), General Election Commission (KPU), and the Constitutional Court (MK) are ready to process it. "Those are the institutions or agencies who are established to handle disputes against the election results. With that, it is hoped that the disputes could be processed accordingly," hoped INP Chief. "However, we are still aware there are fisturbance potentials from those who are not staisfied with the result and went directly to the streets. Obviously, we still urged to protest through the regulations available, however we also want to make sure to anticipate things that could disturb public order," continued General Sigit. In the end of his remarks, General Sigit also urged the people to report the case if they found any cheatings to the related officials. (ad/inp/pr/nm)
