inp.polri.go.id - Palembang. The Palembang Sub-regional City Police arrested two suspects in a violent theft incident involving a member of the Medical and Health Division of the South Sumatra Regional Police in Ilir Barat I District.
Palembang Sub-regional City Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Sonny Mahar Budi Adityawan, stated that the two suspects, identified as FZ and FI, have been detained for legal proceedings.
The incident occurred on Inspector Marzuki street, Siring Agung Village, Ilir Barat I District, Palembang, on Friday (8/7/2026) at around 3:00 a.m.
The victim, identified as JE, was delivering two passengers on a motorcycle.
According to police, a dispute arose after arriving at the destination over payment for the delivery service.
Police suspect one of the perpetrators then struck the victim in the head with a wooden block and injured his stomach with a sharp weapon.
The perpetrators then fled with the victim's motorcycle.
After receiving the report, the Palembang Sub-regional City Police Criminal Investigation Unit conducted a crime scene investigation, reviewed CCTV footage, and interviewed several witnesses.
Police then arrested FZ on Inspector Marzuki street, Palembang, on Monday morning (8/10/2026).
Based on the ongoing investigation, officers arrested FI at a guesthouse in the Alang-Alang Lebar area on Monday afternoon.
"This disclosure demonstrates the seriousness of our officers in eradicating street crime and providing legal certainty to victims. We will not allow perpetrators of street crime in Palembang to prosper," said Sonny.
