Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A magnitude 4.9 earthquake struck the region of Melonguane in North Sulawesi on Monday (10/8/2026) at 5.17 am, according to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).
"The epicenter was located 43 kilometers northeast of Melonguane, North Sulawesi, at a depth of 28 kilometers," BMKG reported via its official social media channel.
The earthquake was recorded at coordinates 4.24 North Latitude and 126.98 East Longitude. BMKG noted that the initial report prioritized speed, meaning processing data remains dynamic and subject to refinement as additional information becomes available.
No immediate damage or casualties were reported following the seismic event.
