Authorities said the death toll could still increase as hundreds of people are still missing in several southeastern US states.
President Joe Biden will directly review several areas affected by Hurricane Helene to monitor the rescue and search process for missing people.
Quoted by AFP, authorities explained that 57 people were recorded as dead in North Carolina, 29 people died in South Carolina, 25 people died in Georgia, 14 people died in Florida, four people died in Tennessee, and one person died in Virginia.
Rescue workers continue to search for hundreds of people who are still unaccounted for throughout the affected states.
