inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Hajj and Umrah Task Force prevented Indonesian citizens from departing for Mecca. They were prevented from departing because they were using non-Hajj visas.
The Director General of Hajj and Umrah Management at the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Harun Al Rasyid, stated that the prevention took place on Saturday (4/18/2026).
"Yesterday, in the early hours of Saturday morning, we made efforts to prevent Indonesian citizens from performing Hajj using non-Hajj visas," Harun explained at the Indonesian National Police Criminal Investigation Agency HQ in Jakarta, Monday (4/20/2026).
The prevention, Harun said, was carried out at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in collaboration with immigration authorities. He ensured that action would be taken against all parties involved in this violation, including the travel agency.
