inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Services (Imipas) has taken action against 196 foreign nationals (WNA) from several countries for violating immigration regulations.
Acting Director General of Immigration Yuldi Yusman stated that of the 196, the most common type of violation that was found was misuse of stay permits, amounting to 99 cases or around 43 percent of the violations.
Other cases include 20 cases of overstaying, 11 cases of fictitious investors, and nine cases of fictitious sponsors were found.
He revealed that other violations found by officers were generally administrative in nature, such as failing to show travel documents or addresses that did not match the stay permit.
"Based on nationality, Nigerian citizens were the largest group caught in the Wirawaspada operation this time, namely 82 people, followed by India with 28 people, Spain with 21 people," said Yuldi on Wednesday (8/10/2025).
He explained that the foreign nationals were caught in Operation Wirawaspada which was carried out on October 3-5, 2025, in the areas of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi.
In the operation, the Directorate General of Immigration initially netted 229 foreign nationals, but only 196 were indicated to have committed immigration violations, and 33 others were not found to have violated.
