Traffic inspection procedures are strictly governed under Law No. 22/2009 on Road Traffic and Transportation and Government Regulation No. 80/2012 regarding Motor Vehicle Inspection Procedures on Roads and Traffic Law Enforcement.

Under statutory regulations, official traffic law enforcement and vehicle safety inspections are restricted to designated public road locations with visible signage and authorized personnel operational orders.
