Inp.polri.go.id - Palembang. A viral video circulating on Facebook claiming to show stacks of cash aid sent from Australia to Indonesia is entirely false. The accompanying narrative alleged that the money was earmarked for distribution to Christian communities and the construction of 800 churches across the country.

Fact-checkers at Kompas.com revealed that the footage used in the hoax actually originated from a TikTok video showing high stacks of Rp 100,000 banknotes.

The Christian Community Guidance Directorate General at the Ministry of Religious Affairs has officially confirmed that no such aid announcement was ever issued..

Rather than international aid, the visual depicts asset seizures from a corruption case that were officially handed over to the government by the Attorney General's Office in December 2025. The public is strongly advised to verify social media claims through official government portals before sharing them.
